Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to uhliverpoolcharity.org

This website is run by University Hospitals of Liverpool Charity (UHL Charity). It includes information about our organisation, what we do, how we make a difference for patients and staff of Aintree, Broadgreen and Royal Liverpool Hospitals and how supporters can get involved.

UHL Charity is committed to make its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. That means you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).

Accessibility Toolbar

Located at the bottom of every page is our accessibility toolbar, labelled 'Show accessibility tools' which toggles to ‘Hide accessibility tools’ to stop it from being visible.

Click on the toolbar to view various accessible options, including: Text size, Contrast and Google translate (however we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the translation).

We've also made the website text as simple as possible to understand, and you can navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.  AbilityNet has advice on making your phone, computer or tablet easier to use, depending on your needs.

Statement: This statement was last reviewed on 25th March 2025 and is based on technical assessment of the website content management system (CMS), design, layout, navigation and functionality by Frank, our website developers. Self-assessment of website content (including images and documents) has been carried out by UHL Charity with the support of staff, patients, volunteers and our supporters.

Compliance: This website is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard.  We have worked hard to make our content as accessible as possible, however some PDF documents, such as governance documents, certificates of registration and some posters are not fully accessible to screen reader software.  Embedded videos do not have captions or transcripts.  However, if there is a specific document that you would like to request in HTML format we will do our best to oblige where possible and practicable, please email: fundraising@liverpoolft.nhs.uk.  Live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations
